Be a part of the magic as our block-long, gilded Waldorf Wonderland Lobby comes to life for the 2021 holiday season. Join locals and international guests as we celebrate another great year at The Roosevelt and continue our tradition at the annual lighting ceremony on Tuesday, November 30th at 5:00 pm. Mrs. Gayle Benson, this year's Roosevelt official lobby lighter, will kick off the holiday season with the flip of a switch, igniting the lobby in sparkling lights. As a New Orleans native, incredible business person and proud owner of our beloved New Orleans Saints and Pelicans, advocate for the community and many charities, Mrs. Benson is the perfect host for the annual event which marks the launch of the holiday season for all of New Orleans and its visitors. The public is invited to experience the lobby lighting, which will take place by 5:15 p.m., followed by a champagne toast. The block long lobby display will be expanded this year and feature 20,000 additional lights and nearly double the bows and garlands bringing the impressive display to include new décor and classic favorites, including 44 Christmas trees, 135,572 lights, 3,328 feet of winter branches 2,200 glass ornaments, and 698 hand tied bows. This gorgeous display tells a spirited story, showcasing the best of New Orleans and the holidays through a classic theme designed to wow crowds each year.
